Down.To.Size–> Nu Metal / Australia

“…8 songs, 22 minutes, of funked-up nu punk rock with the typical shouted
verses and crooning choruses. To lovers of this type of music, this may
well be something fresh and new, breaking the mould of the
pseudo-hardcore/punk/metal hybrid music. To me, it sounds the same as
everything else put out by bands of the ilk.

Not to say it isn't well-performed, however. The Australian
(Geelong to be precise) quartet are a tight unit that seem to be able to
get their music down into a solid, energetic mass.

'Switching' has some very promising Doom-esque moments mixed with
RATM-inspired angst, but the rest sound the like the same songs put to
different beats with the odd atmospheric moment.

But it still raises the question in my mind of what bands expect to accomplish
sounding the same as their peers. One day a band will break the mould and
impress us all. Down.To.Size isn't that band yet, but if they can crack the
generic mould they've poured themselves into, they may make a difference…”
